1.            JOB PURPOSE: The Head of Sales & Business Development will lead the strategy and execution of sales initiatives for a digital bank and payment switch solutions. The role focuses on driving business growth through identifying new opportunities, building strategic partnerships, and expanding the customer base. This leader will play a critical role in positioning the organization as a market leader by fostering long-term client relationships and promoting innovative payment solutions.
2.            KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
●                   Technical/Operations duties 1.            Sales Strategy & Execution

●             Develop and implement a robust sales strategy to achieve business growth and revenue targets for digital banking and payment switch solutions.

●             Identify new market opportunities, industry verticals, and customer segments to expand the organization’s footprint.

●             Lead and manage the end-to-end sales cycle, from lead generation to contract closure.

2.            Business Development

●             Build strategic partnerships with financial institutions, payment processors, merchants, and technology providers to drive business opportunities.

●             Identify and evaluate potential alliances, joint ventures, and partnerships to enhance the company’s competitive positioning.

●             Explore new revenue streams through innovative payment solutions and value-added services.

3.            Client Relationship Management

●             Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including C-suite executives at client organizations.

●             Serve as a trusted advisor to clients, ensuring their needs are met and providing solutions to their payment-related challenges.

●             Oversee client onboarding and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and retention.

4.            Market Research & Competitive Intelligence

●             Conduct market research to identify emerging trends, customer needs, and competitive dynamics in the payment and digital banking space.

●             Analyze competitor strategies and provide insights to refine the company’s go-to-market approach.

●             Monitor industry developments, including regulatory changes, to adapt strategies accordingly.

5.            Team Leadership

●             Build and manage a high-performing sales and business development team, fostering a culture of accountability and success.

●             Provide mentorship and training to team members, equipping them with the skills and knowledge to achieve sales goals.

●             Set clear performance objectives, monitor progress, and ensure team alignment with organizational priorities.

●                   Supervisory duties 1.            Team Leadership

●             Lead, motivate, and manage the Sales and Business Development team to achieve performance goals.

●             Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture within the team.

2.            Performance Management

●             Set clear performance objectives and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for team members.

●             Conduct regular performance reviews and provide constructive feedback.

3.            Training & Development

●             Identify skills gaps and provide training opportunities to enhance team capabilities.

●             Mentor and guide team members to achieve their career development goals.

4.            Resource Planning

●             Allocate resources effectively to support team efforts in meeting organizational objectives.

●             Ensure the team has the tools and technology necessary to succeed in their roles.

5.            Conflict Resolution

●             Address any team conflicts or challenges, ensuring a positive and productive working environment.

6.            Reporting & Alignment

●             Ensure alignment of team activities with organizational priorities.

●             Report team progress, achievements, and challenges to senior leadership regularly.

4.            Proficiency in CRM tools and sales analytics platforms.

5.            Ability to structure and negotiate complex contracts and SLAs.

●                    Qualification ●                   Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, or related field (Master’s degree preferred).

●                   7 years of experience in sales and business development within financial services, payments, or fintech industries.

●                   Proven track record of achieving revenue targets and building long-term client relationships.

●                   Strong knowledge of the payments ecosystem, including switching, digital wallets, ATMs, and POS systems.
