1. JOB PURPOSE: | Responsible for providing IT infrastructure support for the business and tracking IT systems by eliminating security risks, increasing user satisfaction and maintaining efficient operations and IT systems to achieve business goals. Also to ensure the implementation of cost-effective IT systems and efficient computer operations to meet current and future business needs. | ||||
2. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES | |||||
· Technical/Operations duties | 1. Strategy
· Lead, develop and implement IT initiatives that will enable GTI Switch to compete more profitably in the industry. · Participate actively with the business operations to ensure the IT systems address the needs of the business. · Translate the GTI Switch’s vision into IT systems and procedures. · Lead and coordinate development of IT infrastructure to ensure key business strategies and processes are supported by systems that enable growth and flexibility · Define and execute a technology strategy aligned with the organization’s business strategy and goals. · Identify and prioritize technology initiatives that support the business’s growth, innovation, and competitive advantage. · Ensure that technology investments and initiatives are aligned with the long-term vision and objectives of the company. · Develop plans and budgets in light of integral needs and operating unit’s approved projects. · Lead and drive digital transformation initiatives to enhance business processes, customer experience, and operational efficiency. · Identify opportunities for leveraging technology to streamline operations, improve productivity, and create new business models. · Stay updated on emerging technologies and industry trends to identify potential opportunities for business transformation · Develop IT policies and manual · Promote IT culture in GTI Switch. · Handle all aspects of contract administration including establishing Service Level Agreements with software and hardware vendors as well as other related service providers. · Protect GTI Switch and its operations against IT risks, including unauthorised access to information, data integrity problems, loss of processing capability and poor service levels. · Ensure an effective Disaster Recovery System for business continuity. 2. Operations · Responsible for the maintenance & management of GTI Switch IT facilities and data centre in across the holding. · Project manager for all IT related projects. · Supervise the design, implementation and secure operation of the enterprise network infrastructure that supports the company’s messaging systems and content. · Supervise the establishment and review of organizational policies, procedures and standards for the provision and usage of IT services across the holding. · Maintain compliance with approved international IT standards and best practice for the deployment and provision of IT infrastructure & services · Ensure compliance with all appropriate IT legislation including software licensing laws · Develop and control the IT security policy, monitor and counsel staff on compliance, advise management on potential security breaches & security incident response · Develop and implement appropriate metrics to measure and report IT service level performance, trends and problem resolution. · Maintain an accurate and current IT asset register · Supervise the timely maintenance and development of content for the company’s website. · Advice, recommend and oversee all IT purchases · Select and implement suitable technology to streamline all internal operations and help optimize their strategic benefits · Design and customize technological systems and platforms to improve customer experience · Plan the implementation of new systems and provide guidance to IT professionals and other staff within the organization · Approve purchases of technological equipment and software and establish partnerships with IT providers · Oversee the technological infrastructure (networks and computer systems) in the organisation to ensure optimal performance · Analyse the costs, value and risks of information technology to advise management and suggest actions. · Promote a culture of innovation and creativity within the organization, encouraging employees to think outside the box and explore new ideas. · Establish processes and frameworks to foster innovation and collaboration across teams. · Champion the implementation of innovative technologies, solutions, and practices that align with the organization’s strategic direction. 3. Align Technology Initiatives with Business Goals: · Collaborate with executive leadership and business units to understand their objectives, challenges, and technology needs. · Translate business requirements into technology initiatives, ensuring alignment and prioritization. · Regularly assess and reassess technology initiatives to ensure they remain aligned with changing business needs. 4. Build and Manage Strategic Partnerships: · Identify and establish strategic partnerships with technology vendors, service providers, and industry partners. · Collaborate with external partners to explore new technologies, joint ventures, and potential collaborations. · Manage vendor relationships, contract negotiations, and service level agreements to ensure delivery of high-quality solutions and services. 5. Ensure Information Security and Compliance: · Develop and implement robust cybersecurity measures to protect the organization’s systems, networks, and data. · Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards related to data privacy and security. · Establish and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity plans to mitigate risks. 6. Technological Advancements: · Keep up-to-date with technological advancements, industry trends, and best practices. · Continuously evaluate emerging technologies for potential adoption, considering their relevance to the organization’s strategy and goals. · Provide guidance and recommendations on the adoption and implementation of new technologies. · Monitor changes of advancements in technology to discover ways the company can gain competitive advantage 7. Foster Collaboration and Communication: – Promote effective communication and collaboration between technology teams, business units, and executive leadership. – Facilitate cross-functional collaboration to ensure technology initiatives are aligned with the needs of different departments. – Encourage knowledge sharing, learning, and professional development within the technology organization and across the company.
